The new browser is also code-named Spartan, although no official announcements have been made as such. Spartan will be a light-weight, fast and simple browser, according to the report by Mary Jo Foley. it is speculated that Windows 10 may be shipped with both IE 11 and Spartan.
The browser will be based on Microsoft's Chakra JavaScript engine and Microsoft's Trident rendering engine, instead of WebKit which is used in safari and Chrome. Spartan may even support extensions.
Microsoft Student Partner and developer of VLC for Windows Modern, Thomas Nigro first broke the news via twitter. Nigro tweeted, " Ok so Microsoft is about to launch a new browser that's not Internet Explorer and will be the default browser in Windows 10. Wow."

During a Reddit Ask Me Anything event, the Internet Explorer Team was asked if rebranding was considered for IE. The team hinted on the possibility of a change of name to separate the latest versions of IE from the old ones to remove the negative perceptions associated with the name.
This year might prove to be a yet another turning point for Microsoft, and the continued success of the technology giant depends on Windows 10 and Spartan taking off well. People are having great expectations from Windows 10, and so far the news have gathered a positive response.
